0.4 - Bold Stripes as Fashion Trend for the whole 2017

22:01

After London Fashion Week (LFW FW17, 16 - 21 February) now it's Milan turn (MFW FW17, 22 - 28 february) before moving to Paris (28  February - 8 March). Let's try to have a first look at one of the main trends on the runways so far. As topic of this post, one of the main trends arisen throughout this fashion month regards colourful bold stripes as texture both in clothes and on footwear. The evergreen classic stripe with new bold size and brightness has already crowded our wardrobes last Summer when this addicting trend started. Already during Fashion Weeks on September 2016 (SS2017) many designers started putting bold stripes everywhere in their collections. This was the case of brands, such as  Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Mansur Gavriel, Rag & Bone, Carven, Thom Browne, Christian Sirano, Creatures of the Wind, Salvatore Ferragamo, Getty, D&G, Emilio Pucci, Versace, Fendi, Gucci, Arthur Arbesser, Marco De Vincenzo (boots in the pic on the left here below), Marques Almeida, Topshop Unique, Paul Smith, Roksanda, and Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino.
After SS2017 collections, February 2017 has been the yearly fashion month for FW2017. First, during New York Fashion Week (9-17 February) some designers, like Tibi, kept on using bold colourful stripes on shoes, as well. Then, LFW and the ongoing MFW seem still remarking this trend. To make just few examples, footwear collections by Ashish, Charlotte Mills, Charlotte Olympia, LAX, Sophia Webster, Le Silla (in the pic here above on the right), Fendi, Prada, Miu Miu, Nine West,  Loeffler Randall, Gucci, Kate Spade, Louboutin. The new item is the dizzying platform (something from Disco Inferno 70s') characterizing 2017 fashion trend no matter wheather they're pumps, sneakers or flats neither if the texture is horizontal, vertical, curvy or whatever. Once again keyword is "shock!". Stripes can cover sole, toe, plateau, heel and/or platform of your shoes so you'll ever be fashionable this year. This optimism-spreading texture is flexible, quite easy to combine and classy-chic. Fashion suggests us it's suitable in every season this year!  It seems designers aren't fed up yet!
